Elise AdamsAssociate Director
Elise’s experience of differing cultural ideas of ‘normal’ shaped her deep interest in anthropology, which she parlayed into tutoring at both ANU and the University of Sydney. Her decade-plus career in qualitative and quantitative market and social research was sparked by curiosity about how the sportswear brands associated with her hobbies of snowboarding and surfing are worn as badges of identity – the cultural, power and identity implications of how we display what we consume. Elise holds a Ph.D in Cultural Anthropology from the Australian National University, and a Masters in Cultural Anthropology from McGill University in Montreal, Canada and she is the recipient of a Rotary International Ambassador Scholarship.
